A MUSICIAN and his record label are pressing for a civil suit in the aftermath of being arrested in what was considered an unlawful manner, it is announced today.
Known as Jirz, the musician is a recording artist signed at Young N Reckless music label. He was approached in Oakland on August 14th, 2014 at 1:30am by a police officer while picking up a family member from the airport. The police officer asked Jirz for identification and a vehicle registration number. Jirz however refused and asked repeatedly for the reason as to why he was approached, making reference to his constitutional rights. The police officer failed to give any reason and instead only requested not to be recorded on film. After failing to come to an agreement, the police officer proceeded to arrest Jirz without reading out his rights. The musician was later released on bail.
Young N Reckless met with lawyers on Monday morning with the intention of filing a civil suit. There is suspicion based on evidence that the musician was targeted for a specific reason and so the company wants to uncover the truth in what it considers to be an unlawful incident.
Such evidence includes an official investigation report concerning the artist and lyrics from his work, which are claimed to be seditious in nature - even constituting the incitement of treason against the state. The report referenced “documents shown the bureau has been requested to conduct an expedient background investigation of subject whom due to lyrics is being considered for a presidential appointment"
Young N Reckless Music describe themselves as a new record label with a driven, passionate,
dynamic and unique approach. The group behind the label apply a ‘forward-thinking’ and ‘revolutionary’ mindset and follow an impactful motto: ‘the revolution will not be televised’. “It’s not about the bright lights and the fake success of fame: it’s about making art that lasts, with a true meaning standing behind each and every single note,” say the group.
There is a possibility that the recording made by Jirz will appear on YouTube or elsewhere on the web at a later date. The story will continue as more information becomes available to the public.
